Rug Stain Removal Dallas
Many people have rugs in their homes. Rugs are there to keep your home looking lively. Some may even consider their rugs to be timeless family heirlooms. That is why it can be very distressing if you end up spilling something which may end up staining your rug. If you do end up experiencing a similar situation, it is important that you do not panic. Panicking will only distress you and may make the situation worse. It is also important that you do not follow your natural instincts when it comes to stain removal.
Do not rub the stain in
Dallas Rug Stain Removal 101
Many peoples initial reaction after spilling something on their rug or carpet, is to take a towel and rub the towel over the rug back and forth until the stain is gone. It is important that whatever you do decide doing, that you do not resort to rubbing the rug or carpet with a towel. Rubbing may further engrain the stain in the rug or carpet and make it impossible for you to treat the stain in the future. The first thing you should do instead is make a solution of vinegar and water (or a little bit of bleach and water).
- Remove a stain with a vinegar and water solution
- Dab the towel gently over the rug
- Do not rub the stain in
- Keep club soda (seltzer water) and salt in the house
Instead of rubbing in the stain, you should take a white towel and use a solution consisting of half water, and half vinegar. You can then pour some of that solution on the rug itself and some of it on the towel or rag you wish to use to remove the stain. Next, you should gently dab the towel over the stain. If you act quickly, hopefully the stain will be treated and your rug will be good as new.
Additional Rug Cleaning Tips
Proper Room Lighting
Having adequate may not seem like a rug cleaning tip, but it in fact is. Having adequate lighting will prevent moths and other insects from getting stuck in your rug, thereby keeping it cleaner for a longer period of time
Regular Rug Vacuuming
Our team of service professionals recommend that you vacuum your rugs around twice a week. This will go far in removing hazardous dirt and debris from your rug. Smaller rugs should also be shaken out once a week to remove any additional dirt particles. If your rug is too large to shake out, it can be hung from a clothesline and beaten with a handle.
Regular Professional Rug Cleaning Services
Just like it is important to take your car to regular maintenance services after a certain amount of miles have been driven on it. So too it is important to schedule regular maintenance cleanings for your rug. The time will depend on the traffic your rug experiences, but on average our team recommends that you do this every 2-3 years.
Regular Rug Rotation
It is important that your rug is rotated regularly, around once a month. You should do this so that not every part of the rug experiences the same amount of wear and tear on it on a regular basis. This will help lessen the load your rug takes, thereby increasing its effective lifespan.
